UGANET HOLDS DIALOGUES TO TACKLE HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS, STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY JUSTICE

The Uganda Network on Ethics and HIV/AIDS (UGANET) on November 5th held a semester dialogue aimed at enhancing the district’s community-based monitoring systems and improving access to justice for vulnerable groups.
Held at the Community Based Services boardroom, the meeting brought together human rights activists, local government officials, and community members to discuss a range of issues affecting access to justice in Namayingo.
The dialogue also served as a platform for addressing persistent human rights issues, with a focus on strengthening the mechanisms for documenting, reporting, and resolving rights violations.
The dialogue further strengthened community justice system for timely and effective case handling, emphasizing accountability for duty bearers and enhancing collaboration among different stakeholders.
The Uganda Network on Ethics and HIV/AIDS (UGANET) is a national non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting human rights, legal support, and advocacy in the context of health and HIV/AIDS.
Established to bring together organizations and individuals, UGANET works to develop and strengthen policies, legal frameworks, and ethical responses to health issues, focusing on justice, access to healthcare, and the protection of vulnerable populations in Uganda.
Through the GC7 grant, with funding provided by TASO, the support is directed towards strengthening Uganda’s response to HIV, malaria, and TB, aiming to reduce the spread, fatalities, and long-term impacts of these three diseases.
